UEM Builders was the local lead member of a consortium awarded the design-and-build contract for the Satellite ‘A’ Building, which serves as the international arrival and departure terminal of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The terminal complex comprises three main levels with a total floor space of 143,000 sq. meters.
The main features and facilities include 4 satellite arms, 26 fixed bridges, 26 hammerheads, 44 passenger-loading bridges, 26 gate lounges, 24 lifts, 11 escalators and 20 people mover systems.
The building is linked to the Main Terminal by a track transit system for passengers and a sophisticated underground baggage handling system.
