KUALA LUMPUR, 24 December – Joint Venture (JV) partners, UEM Construction Sdn Bhd and Bina Puri Sdn Bhd wish to reaffirm its commitment to complete its work package that makes up klia2’s main terminal building, satellite building, sky bridge and piers within the stipulated deadline.

Mohd Razin Ghazali, Managing Director of UEM Builders Berhad, the parent company of UEM Construction Sdn Bhd said that the JV partners are working rigorously to ensure the physical completion of its package and to obtain the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) for its portion by 31 January 2014 and are doing so with the cooperation from various stakeholders namely, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), the project’s various consultants and the authorities.

He went on to say that while meeting the deadline is the objective, it will do so without compromising the safety, quality and operational efficiency of the new airport.

The main terminal building, satellite building, sky bridge and piers package awarded to the JV partners is worth RM997 million. The package is 1 of 32 initial packages that was awarded by MAHB to various companies at the start of the project.

Matthew Tee, Group Executive Director of Bina Puri Holdings Berhad, the holding company Bina Puri Sdn Bhd, said that despite the many challenges faced, the JV partners are working vigorously to meet the CCC deadline and for the Operational Readiness & Airport Transfer (ORAT) process to commence on 1 February 2014.

“We have received good cooperation from all parties and we hope this will continue for the next month,” added Tee.
