On 14 January 2013, UEM Builders Berhad entered into Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) between Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) and Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN). The MoU, which was signed at the UEM Learning Center Petaling Jaya, provides a framework for an Apprentice Programme to equip young graduates with hands-on skills and enhance their knowledge in a real industrial environment.

The MoU signifies the commitment between UEM Builders Berhad, MARA and IKBN to achieve the following:

  1. Build collaboration between UEM Builders Berhad and technical institutions in producing human capital potential.
  2. Develop learning knowledge and provide skills and work experience to young graduates.
  3. Provide resources for potential candidates to meet the needs of workforce.

In his opening remarks, Managing Director of UEM Builders Berhad, Mohd Razin Ghazali said UEM Builders is fortunate to be given the opportunity to collaborate with MARA and IKBN. The MoU is yet another step forward for UEM Builders to develop links with other educational institutions for collaborations that can result in synergy and mutual benefits.

YM Tunku Siti Raudzoh YM Tunku Ibrahim signed the agreement on behalf of UEM Builders Berhad, witnessed by Ramlan Abdul Rahman, Chief Financial Officer, Dato’ Abdul Rahim Abdul Ghani, Deputy Director General of Education MARA signed on behalf of MARA and witnessed by Mohd Fadzil Ghazali, Director of Technical and Skill and Yusop Ibrahim, Director of IKBN signed on behalf of IKBN and witnessed by Mohamad Zohari Tan, Deputy Director of Management Training, IKBN.

The event was also attended by Zainuddin Yahya, Deputy Director, Division of Skills Development, Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, officials from MARA and IKBN and management of UEM Builders Berhad.
