Our PINTAR family

  • SK Bukit Tambun

  • SRJK(T) Ladang, Batu Kawan
  • SRJK (C) Keng Koon, Bukit Tambun

The PINTAR Programme was launched by YB Lai Chew Hock, Ahli Parlimen Batu Kawan on 21 April 2007 at SK Batu Kawan.

Our core objectives for PINTAR

  • To raise the children’s motivation to learn
  • to increase their opportunities to interact, share knowledge and expose them to new experiences
  • to increase students’ confidence in themselves and to motivate them towards becoming all-rounded students

To fulfil this aspiration, various programs were created and delivered by UEM Builders. On 17-18 May 2007, a brainstorming session with parents of PINTAR schools was held to ascertain their expectations from the PINTAR program. Another program entitled ‘Program Pecutan Akhir’ UPSR was conducted on 7 – 8 July 2007 at JMTI, Penang for Year 6 students involving 180 students. This program was organized by Dr Shukri Abdullah, a renowned motivator.

The program continued on 25 October 2007 with a Drawing Competition with its theme “Futuristic Penang” participated by 50 students. On 27 October 2007, a PINTAR Raya Gathering were organized with 1,200 guest consisting of students, teachers and UEM Builders staff. To end up year 2007, on 23 – 25 November 2007, the PINTAR Kidz Camp was held at Pulau Jerejak with the involvement of 120 students.

In year 2008, UEM Builders’ efforts continues on 12 January 2008 with a parents’ talk entitled “Bijak Membimbing Anak” by Dr Shukri Abdullah to all parents and teachers. 50 parents and teachers were involved. The program continued on 1st March 2008 with the launch of the PINTAR English Camp followed by Program S.A.T.U or Sedia Awal, Tumpu, Ulangkaji to all 160 students in Year 6 held on 12 – 15 March 2008. On 5 April 2008, an educational trip to Penang Bridge was organized to all 40 students of Year 4 and 5. This trip was an eye opener to students and teachers on how the Penang Bridge operates and provides services to the communities it serves. It also was a platform for students to learn about the different technical occupations that are available and acts as a career talk for them.

Other programs that have been successfully conducted were Program Pecutan Akhir UPSR (18-20th July 2008), the Teachers P.E.T., a teambuilding program for teachers (1-3 August 2008).

We hope that these programs and activities will inculcate the interest in parents, teachers and children to enjoy their learning in a meaningful way. UEM Builders is fully committed to its PINTAR objectives and will continue to be a strategic partner in education to the schools in its efforts to maximise the success for our PINTAR ambassadors and in helping to mould the minds of our future generation.
